Banjo Beale

Banjo Beale is an interior designer, TV presenter and author based on the Isle of Ulva in Scotland. He first captured the hearts of the nation alongside Alan Carr on BBC’s Interior Design Masters, before earning his first BAFTA for the hit series Designing the Hebrides. Now in its second series, the much-loved show has gone on to receive a Royal Television Society Award, a second BAFTA nomination and is shown around the world. 

In 2026, he debuted his hilarious and heartfelt new series Banjo and Ro's Grand Island Hotel, following his journey with husband Ro and their menagerie of animals as they transform an abandoned mansion on a remote Scottish island into a five-star retreat, blending design, farming, food and adventure. A second series has been announced and due to air in 2027.  

Banjo shares his design expertise and signature wit as a judge on BBC’s Scotland’s Home of the Year and has featured as a sustainability and design expert on ITV’s This Morning
